![]() October 12 , 2008 saw the beginning of a two day national convention of the Proutist Bloc, India (P.B.I.) in MP Club, New Delhi. Representatives from various states of Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Orissa, Delhi etc. were present at the venue with the intention of creating manifesto for PBI. After an initial briefing by Y.B. Singh and other political activists, it was established that PBI has a direction and character which makes it different from other political parties. PBI, as a political force is not concerned with seats but rather with promoting the Proutist ideology and therefore serving the society. Proutist ideas and definitions are relevant today like never before. PBI stands for economic independence in the face of failing capitalism. Concentration of wealth and over exploitation of both natural and human resources are shortcomings that have triggered the need for a system that caters to individuals’ needs on humanitarian lines. There needs to be a shift in economic and political thinking that stands for coordinated co-operation and not competition. Economic achievement does not necessarily imply true happiness. Decentralization of economy and formation of co-operatives as proposed by PBI play an important role in engaging citizens in decision making thus promoting political awareness and genuine democracy. Prout affirms the guarantee of minimum requirements for all citizens. Welfare of the masses and meeting their real needs based on meaningful consumption should be the aim of production of goods and services and not profit. The following manifesto was adopted by the PBI which outlines its political objectives of reconstructing the economic and political system of the country based on the Proutist ideology and Neo-Humanistic principles : • Formation of policies and systems concerning education, security, health care, justice, water, electricity, agriculture, agro industries and other resources based on Prout. • Establishment of economic democracy at the earliest and assurance of economic security and justice to all. • Assurance of education, health care, water and electricity free of cost to all in the country under the above mentioned economic democracy. • Rationalization in income distribution for all categories of people • A100 per cent waiver of all government loans • Abolition of black laws in India • An end to ‘divide and rule’politics and policies • Formation of an absolute exploitation-free and balanced systems in all organs, departments and institutions of the State • Render the administrative system of the Indian government service -oriented and moralist. • Providing autonomy to the education sector, the judiciary, means of communication and the Election Commission thus making these independent from the influence of government. • Active discouragement of alcoholic consumption in staff. • Direct all government employees to be established in Yama and Niyama • Abolishment of quota, permits, rationing, control and tax as monetary payments • A100 per cent employment guarantee • Provide agriculture the status of industry • Restructuring industries to assure that they run on co-operative basis. • Declare agriculture a national industry • Formation of rational policies concerning the control and distribution of water resources of the country Points for movement (agitation) • Abolishment of SEZ (Special Economic Zone ) Act 2005 and stopping the acquisition of arable lands of farmers. • Abolishment of all taxes on commodities (excise tax, sales tax, toll tax etc ). • Reduction of working hours from 8 to 6/4 to eradicate unemployment and offer jobs to all • Imposition of ceiling on wealth to eradicate corruption • Absolute compensation in case of drought, floods or other natural calamities from the national treasury Through the implementation of the above mentioned measures, PBI aims at creating an exploitation - free society which guarantees security to the citizens in terms of economic fulfillment, political awareness and spiritual satisfaction. ![]() Following are the prominent participants in these two day deliberations. We must continue to fulfill all their needs so that they will not have to leave this world prematurely. - Shrii P.R. Sarkar |
