The rise of Barrack Obama to the position of President of America has come about among other factors, by his robust optimism to lead America to still higher peaks of happiness and prosperity.

His address to the United States Congress on February 24 can only be described in one word---spectacular. The standing applause, which he received almost throughout his address was an indication of the acceptance of his ideas and objectives during his tenure of office as President.

The short term plan for reforming the healthcare system, education and financial management of institutions bereft of all exploitation and greed was a refreshing change. His address was conditioned to maintain the high values and standard and by which he can lead his country to higher platforms of science and technology.
Besides, he also aims to cleanse the stains on the body politic of America in the background of the past history. But, it is to be borne in the mind that rhetoric alone is not enough to prove one’s bonafide and credentials. It is only performance that will prove it.

In his hopefully sincere and genuine efforts to fight exploitation and the malaise of greed, which has led Obama’s country to a devastated economy, he will have to encounter stiff opposition from the capitalist system and the capitalist block, which are the spine of exploitation today.

Obama’s resolve and success in having better of them will prove the greatness of his personality and genuineness of his wise words. His indication that his team of intellectuals is working overtime to correct the inadequacies in various branches of American life and to permanently put it on the path of peace and prosperity is likely to be acclaimed by all Americans facing financial crisis and consequent hardship.
